The votes are in for the 2013 Greater Sudbury Santa Claus Parade, and Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations, a Glencore Co. won for best overall entry in the parade.
An awards ceremony was held Dec. 12.
Parade committee chair Bob Fennell said there were 83 entries in this year's parade, and 45,000 spectators. The parade involved a full day of festivities, starting with the Santa Watch party in the TD Canada Trust parking lot and ending with a fireworks display following the parade.
“There is no question that the annual parade continues to grow,” Fennell said, in a press release. “It is truly a community event, enjoyed by children and their families, and attracting many visitors from out of town to kick off the Christmas season.”
Plans for the 2014 parade, which will take place Nov. 15, have already begin.
