Christmas day house fire causes $100K in damage

Fire caused about $100,000 in damage to a Maki Avenue home on Christmas day, said Greater Sudbury Fire Services.

The three-story residential home sustained moderate fire damage and heavy smoke damage. A vehicle also caught fire.

A total of 17 firefighters fought the blaze.

In its fire safety message, the fire department asks residents to follow fire safe practices when discarding ashes from wood burning appliances.
