The Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation and Sudbury Downs are again joining forces with Independent Grocer and the Sudbury Food Bank for the second annual Lett’uce Fill Your Fridge Campaign.

The campaign encourages Winner’s Circle Rewards members to donate canned goods for a chance to win a $500 gift card for groceries.

“Though the official holiday season is over, we wanted to keep the spirit of generosity alive. The Lett’uce Fill Your Fridge Campaign lets us do something fun for our guests while also giving back to our community,” said Todd Hilton, general manager at OLG Slots at Sudbury Downs.

Each evening from January 6 to 31, the slots facility will be awarding a $500 gift card for use at any of the five Sudbury-area Independent Grocer locations. To qualify for a ballot, Winner’s Circle Rewards members must either donate a canned good or swipe their Winner’s Circle Rewards card daily.

Last year, more than 620 food items were collected for the Sudbury Food Bank.

“While most food banks hold donation blitzes during the holiday season, there is a vital need for canned good donations year round. People rely on the Sudbury Food Bank every day and the generosity of the community is vital to ensuring that their cupboards are always stocked,” said Hilton.
