Greater Sudbury is asking Sudbury Transit passengers to move to a clear area if their bus stop or shelter is blocked by snow.

In a release Wednesday, the city said stops without bus shelters are not normally cleared of snow.

“Drivers will stop at clearings close to the stop to enable passengers to board and exit the bus,” the release said. “Passengers are asked to signal as the bus approaches to help prepare the driver to stop.”

While the city's 130 bus shelters are usually cleared a day or two after a snowstorm, they represent just 10 per cent of Greater Sudbury's 1,300 bus stops.
