Family Day is right in the middle of the winter Olympics, making it a great time to get out and get active, says a release from Greater Sudbury.

The city is offering special rates for skiing, public swimming and public skating on Monday. Free outdoor skating is available at the Ramsey Lake Skating Path, Queen’s Athletic Skating Oval and neighbourhood association outdoor rinks. New this year, four pond hockey rinks near the Canoe Club are open for pickup games until after Family Day.

However, hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed on the skating path and the skating oval. All outdoor activities are subject to changes in the weather. For more information on facilities, times and rates, call 311 or go to www.greatersudbury.ca/familyday.
