Worker injured near Copper Cliff smelter

A worker for the company Auto Wash Plus, contracted through a firm called Outotec, was injured Sunday near Vale's Copper Cliff Smelter. Vale confirmed the contract employee was washing truck when the workplace injury occurred.

A worker for the company Auto Wash Plus, contracted through a firm called Outotec, was injured Sunday near Vale's Copper Cliff Smelter.

Vale confirmed the contract employee was washing truck when the workplace injury occurred.

Ministry of Labour spokesperson Bruce Skeaf confirmed an amount of aggregate fell from the truck onto the worker, injuring his lower body.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident.
Sources could not confirm the extent of the workers injuries at this time.
