“It can cost a family an additional $40,000 a year to raise a child with a physical disability and many families cannot manage these extraordinary costs on their own,” said Nicole Blais, Northern Ontario development manager for Easter Seals Ontario.

The community can become involved outside of the studio. Online fundraising capabilities make it easy to start raising funds for the telethon right now and not wait until show day.

Supporters can log onto eastersealstelethon.org, register and set up their own Telethon donation page, which can be forwarded to friends, co-workers and family members to help raise money for kids with physical disabilities. Pledges raised will be read live on air during the show.
