Wynne promises open nomination in Sudbury

But Wynne has promised at the provincial Liberals' annual general meeting in Toronto March 22 that won't happen. Liberal Rick Bartolucci, who has been Sudbury's MPP since 1995, plans to retire with the next election.

Premier Kathleen Wynne will be in Sudbury tomorrow as part of a northern tour.
But Wynne has promised at the provincial Liberals' annual general meeting in Toronto March 22 that won't happen.

Liberal Rick Bartolucci, who has been Sudbury's MPP since 1995, plans to retire with the next election.

So far, there's two candidates vying to take his place on the docket – Andrew Olivier and engineer Elise Idnani. Both are new to politics.

The Sudbury Liberal riding association has yet to set a nomination meeting date, although it hopes to hold one in April.
