A fire at a home in the Ravina Gardens subdivision of Garson caused around $400,000 in damage, according to Greater Sudbury Fire Services.

Platoon chief Rob Charbonneau said no one was injured in the fire, and the cause was still under investigation.

The fire service responded to a call in the area at around 2 p.m., and took about two hours to get the fire under control, he said. Nineteen firefighters responded to the call and several firetrucks were dispatched.

“It was a big fire,” Charbonneau said.

A neighbour, who wished not to be identified, said an older couple lived in the home. The neighbour said they were staying in their adult daughter's home in Sudbury.
