More than 4,000 homes without power in northeastern Ontario

Due to a combination of freezing rain, hail and snow Friday night, Hydro One customers in outlying areas around the former city of Sudbury are expected to be without power until 12:30 p.m.

Hydro One is warning residential and business customers about a telephone scam where fraudsters identify themselves as employees of Hydro One and demand an immediate credit card or other forms of payment for arrears on their account.
Due to a combination of freezing rain, hail and snow Friday night, Hydro One customers in outlying areas around the former city of Sudbury are expected to be without power until 12:30 p.m.

Hydro One reported 4,406 customers in communities including Blezard Valley, Garson, Hanmer, Burwash, Falconbridge, Capreol and Killarney will not have their power restored until 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The power outages started at 3:55 a.m.

Hydro One said it has deployed multiple crews to restore power to the affected areas.
