Fifteen-year-old Candace Larsen is heading to Croatia to study in September as part of a year-long Rotary exchange, but she needs your help to do it.

The St. Charles College student said she plans to raise $5,000 towards the exchange through her part-time job at Dairy Queen, as well as fundraising events, including an upcoming fundraiser in Coniston.

But she's reaching out to the public to help raise the other $5,000 it will cost her, asking them to donate through her website, Candacegoestocroatia.com.

“I was raised by my mom, Dawn Larsen and always inspired to reach for my dreams, and give my best at every turn,” Larsen said, in a press release.

“I am taking 'reach for your dreams' to a whole new level, leaving the comfort of my home and my mom and learning to live in a different country, go to school and learn in Croatian and live and integrate with three different host families over a one year period.”
