The Canadian Mining and Industrial Expo 2014 will take place April 30 and May 1 at the Garson Arena and Community Centre on Falconbridge Road.

The trade show is open to anyone in the mining field or a related field. There are exhibitors from throughout the world coming to Sudbury for this two-day event.

Featured will be new products and services for both above-ground applications and underground applications from around the world.

“This is a great opportunity for engineers, management, miners, plant foreman, maintenance supervisors, business owners, purchasing agents and others to meet and see the latest in mining products and services,” said Darren Ceccarelli, marketing director, DAC Marketing Ltd. “The opportunity also exists to network and make lifelong relationships which will lead to prosperous times in economic upswings.

“The market is definitely banking on the mining sector as there are many companies that are booking the show with high expectations on the local economy. Many projects that have been on hold for the past few years in the downturn are beginning to re-surface and spending is starting to take place with many mining companies.”

The show continues to grow and attract different companies from around the world year after year. This is the 20th year for the show, which has attracted interest from as far away as India, China, Australia, Turkey and many parts of Africa.
This show also is very beneficial for the local economy as hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent here locally on hotel rooms, restaurants and attractions, Ceccarelli said.

This year’s show will also feature many interesting seminars including one from the Nickel Belt MP Claude Gravelle on an update of the Ring of Fire project. There will also be informative seminars on various topics of the latest technology and services available.

There will also be many demonstrations and free giveaways taking place.

The show times and days are:
-Wednesday , April 30: noon – 6 p.m.
-Thursday, May 1: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Admission is free.
