Thanks to a dinner organized by Miners for Cancer, the Northeast Cancer Centre can expect to have $20,000 more in its coffers.

On Wednesday, April 30, Food Network start Chef David Adjey teamed up with Miners for Cancer, a local organization that has raised funds for cancer research and a patient support since 1996, to host Dining for a Cure.

For $125 each, guests gathered at the Steelworkers Hall where they were able to enjoy a meal prepared from Adjey.

Funds from the dinner went to Northeast Cancer Centre programs for research, equipment and patient care.

Miners for cancer also raised $80,000 for the Northeast Cancer Centre during a hockey tournament in January.
