Police have been deployed to the mine

Two contractors working at First Nickel Inc.'s Lockerby Mine are dead, the Ministry of Labour has confirmed.

The company announced earlier today it was responding to an “incident” at the mine.

Other media have reported there was a ground collapse at the mine Tuesday morning.

Greater Sudbury Police Const. Bert Lapalme told Northern Life police have been deployed to Lockerby Mine.
