Teaching 'best gig ever:' award-winning prof

Cambrian College Business and Information Technology professor Brian P. Vendramin has been honoured with this year’s President’s Award for Excellence in the Faculty category.

“I am humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious award,” Vendramin said, in a press release.

“For me, it validates that energy, enthusiasm, innovation and relevance continue to resonate positively with my students and graduates alike. Many people know that I call teaching the ‘best gig ever.’”

The President’s Award for Excellence is presented annually at convocation to a faculty member who has been exemplary in achieving professional goals and inspiring peers to set and achieve the highest standards in the classroom.

Vendramin has been a member of the Cambrian College community for 27 years and has become known as a keen and innovative teacher, and a reliable and trusted colleague, the press release said.

Since joining the college faculty, he has been actively involved in campus life, helping students to get the most out of their learning experiences.

Vendramin is also an active community member, volunteering with the Samaritan Centre, the Maison Vale Hospice, as well as St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
