New court date for murder suspect

The suspect in the stabbing death of 20-year-old Allan Ashawasagai on June 3 is scheduled to appear in court on June 27. A 17-year-old girl was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.

The suspect in the stabbing death of 20-year-old Allan Ashawasagai on June 3 is scheduled to appear in court on June 27.

A 17-year-old girl was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.

Her name will not be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She was in court June 4 for her first appearance, and had a second appearance on June 12.

Ashawasagai was stabbed at a Bloor Street apartment. He was taken to Health Sciences North where he died as a result of his injuries.

The matter is being investigated by members of the Criminal Investigations Division.
