Joe Cimino was officially sworn in as Sudbury NDP MPP today.

He joined his colleagues from across Ontario in taking the Oath of Allegiance for Members of the 41st Parliament.

The ceremony was administered by the Lt.-Gov. David C. Onley.

Most members of the 41st Parliament were sworn in en masse in the Legislative Chamber. New Members and their guests were then invited to join the Onley for a reception to mark the occasion ahead of the vote to elect a new Speaker, scheduled for 2 p.m.

Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath took the Oath today with her caucus and had these words of welcome for them:

“This is an exciting time for our caucus and I’d particularly like to welcome our new members Joe Cimino, Lisa Gretzky and Jennifer French. I was thrilled to be sworn in today with these new faces and alongside our returning members. I look forward to the work we have ahead of us. Congratulations all.”
