This fall, steps will be taked to reduce the burden of kidney disease with the annual Kidney Walk.

One in 10 Canadians suffer from kidney disease and more than 10,000 people in Ontario are currently on dialysis. Permanent end-stage kidney failure forces sufferers to undergo difficult dialysis treatments several times a week.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Kidney Foundation of Canada and walks will be held in more than 40 communities in Ontario. The goal of this foundation is to support those affected by kidney disease, educate others and raise money for the cause.
Over the last 50 years, the Kidney Foundation has raised and invested more than $110 million in kidney research alone.
