A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the Greater Sudbury area. Rain is expected to start around 5 p.m. this evening.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong winds gusts and heavy rain.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.
