Azilda Stampede Days, which runs Aug. 30 and 31, combines two of the world's most dangerous sports — bull riding and extreme motocross stunt riding.

Witness the heart-pumping spectacle of competitive bull riding as top hands from Sao Paulo, Brazil, the United States, Mexico and Canada strap onto 2,000 pounds of raging bull in a timed test of sheer survival.

All riders will be competing for the 15 qualifying spots in the International Professional Rodeo Finals slated for Oklahoma City next January.

“We are truly excited about our 2014 season,” said BJ Prince, general director of the Rawhide Rodeo Company, which will be performing at the event.

“Based on the advance enthusiasm and our star-studded roster, spectators are in for a very competitive and exciting event.”

The event also hosts Canadian motorcycling legend Jordan Szoke, winner of 19 national titles in multiple disciplines.

Szoke leads his Freestyle Extreme Team in a thrilling display of trials skills and jaw-dropping stunt riding that will defy both physics and gravity.

Also performing will be 8 Six Six Inudustrie's team of freestyle motocross jumpers led by London's Billy VanVugt.

The event is in support of the Greater Sudbury Volunteer Firefighters Association.

It takes place starting at 2 p.m. both Aug. 30 and 31 at Belanger Feed and Farm, located at 434 Montee Principale in Azilda (next to Sudbury Downs).

Tickets, which cost $22, are available by visiting www.greatrodeo.com or by phone at 1-866-51-RODEO.
