Health Sciences North's inaugural Joie de vivre fundraising event on Sept. 11 raised $75,000 for research at the Advanced Medical Research Institute of Canada (AMRIC).

The fundraising dinner, held at the home of Sue and Perry Dellelce, is expected to be the first of many such events, where individuals host fundraising dinners at their homes, or in larger spaces.

“Sue and I are pleased with the community support this event has received,” said Perry Dellelce, in a release. “It feels really good to be a part of this initiative and to set it off on the right foot.”

Ristorante Verdicchio, a corporate sponsor for the event, provided catering services at a discounted price for the dinner.

“Joie de vivre is the gift that keeps on giving,” said Sue Dellelce, in a release. “We hope many individuals will agree to host their own event and continue to raise funds for vital health care research and services.”

Joie de vivre is presented by the Northern Cancer Foundation and the Health Sciences North Foundation to support AMRIC.
