The Nickel District Conservation Authority (NDCA) has extended the flood watch for Greater Sudbury.

“Levels and flows on all watercourses and waterbodies are extremely high and will continue to increase for some time to come,” the NDCA said in a statement Friday.

Environment Canada's forecast calls for more rain today, tonight and into tomorrow. In the last 24 hours Environment Canada, the Sudbury area received at least 25 mm of rainfall.

Since Oct. 14, at least 95 mm of rain has fallen in the city. The forecast calls for some improvement in weather conditions by Sunday and into early next week.

“At this time, the NDCA strongly encourages residents living in these flood-prone areas to very closely monitor developing conditions, and report any problems by calling the city at 311, 24 hours a day,” the release said.
