Two film productions will require intermittent traffic interruptions in Downtown Sudbury this week.

“30th Birthday”, a Hideaway Pictures film production, will film outdoor scenes on Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 21 and 23, on portions of Durham and Larch streets.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with intermittent lane closures for filming.

There will be no parking on both sides of Durham Street, between Larch and Cedar, and Larch Street, between Elgin and Lisgar. Filming and set design should wrap at 11 p.m. both days.

“Born To Be Blue”, a story based on the life of Jazz musician Chet Baker, is a motion picture of BTB Blue Productions Ltd. for release in 2015. Filming of exterior scenes will take place in front of the Townehouse Tavern, 206 Elgin St., and in the pedestrian underpass between Elgin Street and Riverside Drive on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Film crews will occupy the sidewalk and storefront curb lane on Elgin Street, between Grey Street and Durham Street, as well as the ramp into the pedestrian underpass, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Public access will remain open to all businesses and the underpass with intermittent delays for filming.
