The Sudbury District Archives Interest Group recently made a very important acquisition — the Land Abstract Index Registers for Sudbury and District.

“These documents are of the most significant records within a Local Land Registry Office,” a press release from the group said.

“They give the transaction history of every parcel of land that is registered and filed within a community. The Abstract Index, which has been returned to Greater Sudbury, is the 'key' to finding any document providing information on each property.”

To give Sudburians a look at these documents, the group is holding an event at the Bell Mansion (Art Gallery of Sudbury) tonight (Oct. 22) at 7 p.m.
