The snow squall warning issued by Environment Canada for Greater Sudbury has ended.

Original story

The city is asking people to drive with extra care today as Greater Sudbury deals with the five to 10 cm of snow that fell last night, with a further 10 to 15 cm expected today.

Flurries and snow squalls are expected to continue throughout the day, significantly reducing visibility.

To deal with the heavy, wet snow that fell, the city has deployed its full complement of road warriors this morning, to tackle roads and public walkways, Shannon Dowling of the city's communications department said this morning.

Drivers are also being asked to avoid parking on side streets in order to help snow ploughs clear road ways. Drivers are also reminded not to pass snow ploughs on one-lane streets.

Dowling said the city could not say which roads in the city are particularly slick and snow-covered.

You can help NorthernLife.ca inform drivers of where the trouble spots are with local roads today. Call our roads line at 705-673-5667 ext 367 or email [email protected] anytime and tell us where drivers should be particularly careful.
