Shining light on the winter solstice

Several community organizations are gathering to find “light in dark times” and to “welcome the return of the sun” with a winter solstice celebration starting at 6 p.m. Dec. 18.

The family friendly evening, to be held at O'Connor Park, features art-making, a lantern-lighting and a dessert social.

The event is put on by Myths and Mirrors Community Arts, Better Beginnings, Better Futures and The SPOT Youth Centre.
