It will also close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

Landfills and the recycling centre will close Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Those who receive waste collection on Thursdays will be serviced on Saturday, Dec. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 3. Please make sure your waste is at the curb in approved containers by 7 a.m. Household waste collection services will be provided on Boxing Day. All landfill sites and the recycling centre will be open on Dec. 26.

Natural Christmas trees will be collected and composted as part of the year-round leaf and yard trimmings collection. Please remove all decorations, tinsel and lights. Place your tree at your curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day. Christmas trees wrapped in plastic will not be collected.

Greater Sudbury Library Branches and Citizen Service Centres will close Dec. 25, 26, and Jan. 1. All Greater Sudbury Library Branches and Citizen Service Centres will be open on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Greater Sudbury arenas will again offer free public skating during the holidays, compliments of Tim Hortons. Visit the Tim Hortons nearest you for a schedule of dates and times or their website at www.timhortons.com.

Adanac, Capreol and Lively ski hills are closed until further notice due to mild weather conditions. If you require further assistance,e call 705-671-2489 or visit www.greatersudbury.ca/ski.

The Queen's Athletic Skating Oval and the Ramsey Lake Skate Path are also temporarily closed due to inclement weather. The city will issue updates as soon as conditions change. Visit www.greatersudbury.ca for updates.

Greater Sudbury Transit will not operate on Dec. 25. Transit will run on the Sunday schedule. On Dec. 26, transit will operate on a Saturday schedule from 5 a.m. until 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 27. On Jan. 1, Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Free Transit rides will be available New Year's Eve from 10:15 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Route information can be found at www.greatersudbury.ca/transit.
