He alleged he had been offered a government job or appointment in exchange for his co-operation, naming local Liberal Gerry Lougheed Jr., Liberal strategist Pat Sorbara and Premier Kathleen Wynne specifically for making the offer.

Asked to look into the allegations, the OPP said this week that no charges could be laid as a result of the investigation. Olivier told media he refused to release the tapes to the OPP.

Then, this morning he dropped a bombshell by releasing the tapes on his Facebook page.

The alleged recording between Lougheed and Olivier can be listened to above. The alleged recording between Olivier and Sorbara can be listened to here.

Olivier said because he is quadripelegic and unable to take notes, he often records phone conversations for future reference.

"As a quadriplegic, writing notes is a luxury I do not have," he wrote on his Facebook page. "I record many of my one on one conversations and then log them for further use.

"I did not wish to release the recordings of these conversations. But I have been left with no other option. In order to clear the air once and for all, and to allow my fellow Sudburians to know the full and whole truth about what transpired, I am releasing my full and unedited conversations that took place on December 11th and 12th."

Olivier said he is still running as an independent candidate in the byelection.
