Azilda house fire causes $25K in damage

An early morning house fire on Albert Street in Azilda caused an estimated $25,000 in damage on Jan. 19, said Greater Sudbury Fire Services. Twenty-five firefighters from three station responded to the call around 1:50 a.m.

An early morning house fire on Albert Street in Azilda caused an estimated $25,000 in damage on Jan. 19, said Greater Sudbury Fire Services.

Twenty-five firefighters from three station responded to the call around 1:50 a.m.

Fire damage is listed as minimal, and smoke damage is listed as moderate.

“Always make sure you have a home fire escape plan,” said Greater Sudbury Fire Services in its fire safety message. “Know where to go, develop and practise the plan. Handle smoking materials with care, and empty ashes in a metal container.”
