Easter Seals 'Stars' set to shine

The lineup for the fifth annual Dancing with Easter Seals Stars is set, and the stars are lacing up their dancing shoes for the Feb. 27 event. This year's lineup includes entrepreneurs, a radio personality, a filmmaker and a comedian, to name a few.

The lineup for the fifth annual Dancing with Easter Seals Stars is set, and the stars are lacing up their dancing shoes for the Feb. 27 event.

This year's lineup includes entrepreneurs, a radio personality, a filmmaker and a comedian, to name a few.

“The 2015 lineup of 'stars' features an amazing group of community members who are tackling this challenge with incredible enthusiasm,” said Cecilia Aparicio, fundraising specialist for Easter Seals. “They are generously donating their time and energy in an effort to improve the lives of children with physical disabilities in our community.”

Dancers this year are Darlene Palmer, director of development with Cambrian College; Marie Whitehead,advertising account manager for Sudbury Living Magazine (sister publication of Northern Life); Edwina Rudolph, owner/operator/instructor of Zen Fitness; Lisa Lounsbury, president and founder of New Day Wellness and columnist for Northern Life; Shawn McLaren, a local comedian who is currently working with Jiminez Productions and Cinéfest Sudbury; Pierre Bonhomme, film crew development officer for Northern Ontario at Cultural Industries Ontario North; G-Rant, morning show host with Hot 93.5; and Jean Cotnoir, director of marketing and recruitment for College Boréal.

Dance coaches are Dennis Harasymchuk, Bob Leduc, Charles Larose, Jeff Kuhn, Toni Calabrese, Samantha Collard, Miranda Waugh and Angela Pepin.

Dancing with Easter Seals Stars raises money for children with physical disabilities, helping to provide mobility equipment and communication devices to families who require additional help and support.
