Have you always wanted to try ice fishing? You'll get your chance thanks to Conservation Sudbury's third annual Friends and Family Ice Fishing Day, which takes place Feb. 15.

The event takes place from 12-4 p.m. at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area.

That weekend is an Ontario Family Fishing weekend, so no fishing licenses are required .

Ice fishing activities will include learning proper catch and release techniques and making your own ice fishing rod from a stick. Ice augers, gear and free bait will be available courtesy of the OFAH Tackleshare program and Ramakko’s.

Round out the day with building a snowman or sculpture on the lake, or going for a snowshoe out on the lake or hiking trails – snowshoes and maps will be available for free.

Warm up at any time at the Nature Chalet or by our outdoor fire and enjoy complimentary hot beverages.

No registration is required. Phone 705-674-8904 or email [email protected].
