Police still hope to solve 17-year-old homicide

On the anniversary of his death, Greater Sudbury Police say they are continuing the investigation into the Martin Higo/Swanson homicide which took place 17 years ago.

On the anniversary of his death, Greater Sudbury Police say they are continuing the investigation into the Martin Higo/Swanson homicide which took place 17 years ago.

And they're hoping someone with information on the cold case will contact them and help them solve his murder.

“In the early morning hours of March 1, 1998, 28year-old Martin Higo, also known as Marty Swanson, was located inside the Big Thunder bar on Elgin Street,” police said in a release.

“The victim had sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital where he later passed away. As the investigation continues, it is believed there are additional witnesses who have yet to speak to police.”
