Event helps girls explore career possibilities

High school girls will have an opportunity to experience some of the career possibilities out there at the 12th annual Women of the Future conference at Collège Boréal March 5.

The more than 100 Grade 9 and 10 girls attending will have a chance to check out booths, motivational speakers and more.

“Many of the girls who will be attending this conference have not yet had the opportunity to explore career options or the chance to interact with accomplished women in a wide variety of employment fields,” said organizing committee member Rhonda Lakanen, in a press release.

“This conference gives them a chance to hear inspiring stories and provides them with information about possible next steps in their own career paths.”
