The Health Sciences North Foundation's Blowing the Whistle for Kids Care campaign raised $3,161 to buy an optiflow system that will benefit neonatal and pediatric patients with respiratory problems and distress.

Eric Caetano and Matt Davie topped off the fundraising effort with a cheque for $1,161 to the campaign.

“Health Sciences North Foundation would like to thank Eric, and his team of volunteers, like Matt, for their hard work and dedication to the 2014 campaign. Funds raised through the Blowing the Whistle for Kids Care will directly benefit the tiniest of patients of Health Sciences North, and in some cases, help to avoid ICU admissions for some children,” said Mary Lou Hussak, executive director of the HSN Foundation, in a press release.

The Nickel City Rocks hockey tournament helped raise funds for the campaign.
