Collège Notre-Dame reached a milestone in its fundraising efforts for the Northern Cancer Research Foundation.

On Feb. 26, more than 300 students hit the street in their 27th annual fundraising campaign, and collected $19,000, bringing their 27-year total to $700,000.

Collège Notre-Dame students, families and staff strongly support the Foundation’s dedication to promoting cutting-edge cancer research and the offering of quality care to Northern Ontario patients.

“All students and staff want to thank the Greater Sudbury community for their generous donations. The ongoing support of Greater Sudbury residents is a great motivator and helps us to continue our fund raising campaign and participate in the efforts to beat cancer,” said Johanne Chrétien, Collège Notre-Dame principal.

“We are proud to know that so many Collège Notre-Dame teenagers have such a strong involvement in the community and want to contribute to its well-being,” said Lyse-Anne Papineau, director of education at the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario. “Faith, hope and charity are our guiding virtues at the CSCNO. We congratulate our students for their leadership qualities and recognize that they are all remarkable Catholic citizens.”
