Sudburians taking the plunge Saturday

Dozens of people are steeling their nerves to take the plunge into Ramsey Lake Saturday for the second annual Polar Plunge. Greater Sudbury Police Service is hosting the event in partnership with Laurentian University, Scotia Bank and Hot 93.5.

Dozens of people are steeling their nerves to take the plunge into Ramsey Lake Saturday for the second annual Polar Plunge.

Greater Sudbury Police Service is hosting the event in partnership with Laurentian University, Scotia Bank and Hot 93.5.

The Polar Plunge allows participants the opportunity to jump into the frigid waters of Ramsey Lake in order to raise awareness for Special Olympics Ontario. Participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt and toque, in addition to qualifying for various prizes including top fundraisers.

Event registration begins at 11 a. m. with the plunge scheduled to start at noon.
