In light of recent news at Health Sciences North, the Sudbury chapter of the Ontario Health Coalition has planned a public meeting to discuss upcoming hospital cuts at the United Steelworkers Hall on Brady Street, on March 24.

Health Sciences North is cutting 42 registered nurse positions, the Ontario Nurses' Association said March 17.

While the lost positions won't translate to 42 layoffs, the union said the reduced nursing hours will impact care at Health Sciences North.

The public meeting will be held in the Local 6500 room of the United Steelworkers Hall and will provide a forum for Sudburians to learn about the cuts at Health Sciences North. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

NorthernLife will be livestreaming the full event on our homepage. Steelworkers Hall is currently experiencing technical difficulties and are hoping to fix the issue by 7 p.m. If not resolved, NorthernLife.ca will record the event and have it available to watch afterwards.
