An oil spill in Junction Creek is being cleaned up, said the City of Greater Sudbury.

The spill is near downtown Sudbury, although the city did not specify the exact location.

The city is working with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to determine from where the oil is originating from and have made arrangements to collect and remove the oil from the creek," said a news release. "There appears to be around 25 litres of oil; however, final numbers have not been determined. The city will monitor the spill and continue investigating the source of the contaminates."

Junction Creek is not part of the City of Greater Sudbury's drinking water system.
