As one of three finalists in the 12 and under category for the Me to We Canadian Living Award, 10-year-old Sudbury girl Darquise Frappier has a chance to win $1,000 for a charity of her choice.

The Canadian Living Me to We Awards shine a spotlight on Canadians who are making a difference in communities, at home and abroad.

The awards are made possible with the support of Canadian Living magazine.

Darquise is a finalist for the award because of her volunteer work in Sudbury, as well as her work to raise funds for a Jamaican orphanage.

Her older sister, Mélanie-Rose Frappier, is also heavily involved in volunteer work, and was recently honoured at Northern Life's own Community Builders Awards of Excellence in the Young Leader category.

Darquise has decided that if she wins the award, she'll put the money towards the Sudbury organization Our Children, Our Future.

But to win the award, she needs your online votes. Until May 8, people can visit www.metowe.com/awards to submit their votes.
