Marymount teachers put their hair on the line for fundraiser

The teachers at Marymount Academy are putting their hair on the line to encourage their students to raise funds for the Northern Ontario Cancer Foundation.

The teachers at Marymount Academy are putting their hair on the line to encourage their students to raise funds for the Northern Ontario Cancer Foundation.

During the evening of April 23, Marymount students will be canvassing door-to-door for the cancer foundation. They're raising funds in honour of a Grade 12 student at the school who's battling cancer.

As a fundraising incentive, a number of teachers will have their hair cut, shaved or dyed April 24, depending on how much money is raised.

Here are the fundraising benchmarks:

$500- Mr. Beaton will be shaving his beard
$1,000- Mr. Van Mierlo will be dyeing his hair pink
$1,500- Ms. Geddes will be cutting and donating her hair
$1,750- Mr. Lapalme will be shaving his beard
$2,000- Mrs. Jebreen will be cutting and donating her hair
$3,000- Mrs. Smyrke will be cutting and donating her hair
$4,000- Mr. Mullin will be dyeing his hair pink
$5,000- Mr. Russell will be dyeing his his hair pink
$6,000- Ms. Goldsborough will be cutting and donating her hair
$7,000- Mr. Beaton will be shaving his head
$8,000- Mr. Weiler will be shaving his head
$9,000- Mr. Lapalme will be shaving his head
$10,000- Mr. Bartolucci will be shaving his legs
