As part of the school's drive to raise funds for the Northern Cancer Foundation in honour of a student who's fighting cancer, Marymount Academy students are getting a sweet treat.

The school’s cafeteria supplier, Chartwell’s, donated 250 cookies for students to purchase, with funds going to the cancer fundraiser.

Students are also selling Regals Fight Cancer sweatshirts, which they can wear certain days every week for the month of April in place of their regular uniform top.

This evening, students will also be canvassing door-to-door in the city as part of the fundraising initiative.

Several teachers are willing to have their hair shaved, dyed, cut and donated, depending on how much money has been raised. Fundraising totals will be announced April 24.
