Cambrian College's public relations students were able to donate a grand total of $11,269.97 to various charities from events they planned this past year as part of their coursework.

This year, they ran diverse events including Rock ‘n’ Rescue Battle of the Bands and a social media skills panel, dubbed #MediaMingle.

Among the charities that benefitted from the funds were: Action Sudbury, Cambrian Foundation, Health Sciences North Pediatric Unit, Our Children, Our Future, Safeguarding Animals in Need Today Society (S.A.I.N.T.S.), Sudbury Youth Rocks, The Downtown Village Development Corporation and YWCA Genevra House.

Funds, backpacks, and dental supplies were also sent abroad with the Cambrian Dental and Nursing program students, who are on a health and education mission in Costa Rica.

The majority of the proceeds were donated to the Cambrian Foundation, which allows graduating students to support future students in financial need.

The students worked under the direction of professors Mike Large, David Kilgour and Sabrina Roy.
