Shoppers at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre can peruse portraits of First Nations, Métis and Inuit heroes created by local schoolchildren next week.
Local artist Pandora Topp worked with the Grade 7 and 8 students from Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l'Ontario (CSPGNO) schools to help them create the portraits.
An opening ceremony featuring Marie-Clarie Vignola, a local Métis woman, will be held May 4 at 1 p.m. The exhibition will be open to the public May 4-8 between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The event is part of CSPGNO's Education Week activities.
“Students and teachers will take part in a wide variety of dynamic activities and unforgettable educational experiences” as part of education week, a press release said.
