A male driver who flipped his car to its side on Lasalle Boulevard Friday evening was not seriously injured in the collision, said police.

At around 6:55 p.m. the man's Chevrolet Equinox crossed the centre line on Lasalle, drove into west-bound traffic and mounted the curb.

His SUV then traveled up a grass hill before hitting a traffic signal post at the intersection of Lasalle and Montrose Avenue, police said.

Emergency personnel freed the driver from his vehicle and transported him to Health Sciences North with non-life threatening injuries.

No other persons were injured.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, police said. A member of the traffice management unit is currently investigating the collision.

Lasalle Boulevard was closed to west-bound traffic from around 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
