Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger declared April 30 Young Professionals Day in Sudbury at an event that launched a re-branded Young Professionals Association of Greater Sudbury.

The Wine and Cheers event was meant to celebrate how for the organization has come.

“We are extremely pleased with the attendance tonight,” said Tim Yeung, chair of the Young Professionals Association of Greater Sudbury, in a press release. “It says a lot about our community when you can send a positive message like the YPA (Young Professionals Association) and receive an overwhelming amount of support. We look forward to the future of the organization as we have many more new things to come.”

The Young Professionals Association supports members between the ages of 20 and 40 who have an interest in personal and professional development, as well as community engagement.

The association says it focuses on three pillars: providing various opportunities, resources, funding and social gatherings for youth who are looking for growth through volunteer opportunities; professional development; and social networking events.
