The club has pledged $50,000 over five years for NEO Kids, HSN’s centre of excellence for pediatric care. Club Montessori is composed of Italian-Canadian businesspeople who are devoted to charity work in Greater Sudbury.

”A community should be able to care for its children, and that is why NEO Kids is so important to all of us,” said Gilberto Ciulini, the director of Club Montessori.

“The stress of having a child go through medical treatment is difficult. NEOKids can offer vital treatment for children close to home instead of having to travel far from family members and friends.”

NEO Kids offers specialty pediatric services for children in Greater Sudbury and across northeastern Ontario.

Pediatric services provided through NEO Kids include treatment for children with mobility challenges, cystic fibrosis, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and speciality clinics for paediatric orthopaedics, allergies, asthma and obesity.

There are 30,000 patient visits a year through NEO Kids.

“The need for specialized pediatric care is growing in northeastern Ontario and NEO Kids is key to our ability to treat children here, so they don’t have to go to travel far for care,” said Dr. Sean Murray, Pediatrician and Medical Director of NEO Kids.

“This pledge from Club Montessori is a great step forward in realizing our vision to enhance and expand children’s care in the north.”

NEO Kids is located at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre, and HSN has plans to expand the facility to accommodate more pediatric services and health care providers.

“We are inspired, grateful, and very thankful to Club Montessori for this pledge, which demonstrates incredible commitment to children’s health, both in Greater Sudbury and northeastern Ontario,” adds Dr. Denis Roy, HSN’s president and CEO.

“Children’s health is a strategic priority at HSN because we believe children should receive care in an environment that understands and reflects their unique needs, and this commitment by Club Montessori will help NEO Kids achieve this goal.”
