Join the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Brian Bigger as he delivers his first State of the City Address since being elected in October.

Bigger will speak June 18 on the future of the City of Greater Sudbury and “the exciting projects moving our city forward,” a release from the chamber said.

Before being sworn in as mayor in December 2014, Bigger was the city's first auditor general. He and former senior auditor Carolyn Jodouin were awarded the distinction of international recognition from the Association of Local Government Auditors for their audit of Sudbury road construction projects.

Bigger was also a senior executive at Sears Canada Inc. and was senior asset manager with the Regional Municipality of Halton. A graduate of St. Charles College, Bigger earned a diploma in marketing from Cambrian College, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

As a youth, Bigger won a gold medal in the 1974 Ontario Summer Games for Sudbury as a member of the Sudbury Cycling Club. In recent years, he ran two full marathons and numerous half marathons.

Bigger was born in Sudbury, as was his Lori Bigger, his wife of 35 years. They have two children and are proud grandparents of two little boys.
