Northern Water Sports Centre seeks board members

The board will meet 10–12 times per year at the new NWSC building at 206 Ramsey Lake Rd. This volunteer position requires board members to manage the affairs of the NWSC as they pertain to:

-Establishing the strategic directions and annual facilities operating plan for the NWSC, consistent with the NWSC’s mandate, mission, values and vision;

-Setting and administering the annual operating and capital budgets for the NWSC facilities;

-Ensuring that it can meet all of its legal and financial obligations;

-Allocating the percentage of operating costs to each club partner on an annual basis;

-Negotiating the operating/lease agreement with the city;

-Approving the hiring of and managing staff of the NWSC;

-Setting policy related to the operation of the NWSC facilities, financial management and reporting, health and safety, community engagement, environmental stewardship and resolution of issues between the members; and

-Such other complementary purposes not inconsistent with the NWSC mandate, mission, values and vision.

The mission of the NWSC is to facilitate broad access to Ramsey Lake by responsibly engaging with the community in, and providing shared facilities and infrastructure for, the human-powered water sports programs and events delivered by its partners.
