To maximize your child's safety while out on the road:

-Insure the bicycle is of appropriate size in comparison to your child;
-The chain is tight;
-Brakes are functional;
-Tires are inflated to recommended pressure;
-The bicycle is equipped with a working horn or bell;
-Reflectors or reflective tape is applied to their helmet, clothes and bikes to ensure clear visibility to drivers at night;
-The children must use proper footwear, such as running shoes, with tied-up laces while riding. Flip-flops should be avoided;
-Headlights and taillights must be equipped. It is recommended that you use blinking lights, as these are more noticeable to motorists at night;
-The edge of the helmet must be positioned two fingers above the eyebrows to protect the forehead;
-The straps should meet in a V shape just below the ears, and one finger should fit between the chin and chinstrap.

Remember that helmets are not only a vital feature for the safety of your child, it is also illegal for minors to ride without them.
