Drivers: Expect delays during Pan Am Torch Relay tonight

Motorists are advised of traffic delays on Elm and Paris Streets this evening during the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay. Local torchbearers will begin the relay at the corner of Ethelbert and Elm Streets at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Runners participating in the Pan Am Games Torch Relay on Tuesday will begin the relay at the corner of Ethelbert and Elm streets at around 6:15 p.m. The relay will temporarily close both eastbound lanes on Elm Street, reopening behind the procession as the torchbearers reach Paris Street at around 6:45 p.m.
Motorists are advised of traffic delays on Elm and Paris Streets this evening during the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay.

Local torchbearers will begin the relay at the corner of Ethelbert and Elm Streets at approximately 6:15 p.m. The relay will temporarily close both eastbound lanes on Elm Street, reopening behind the procession as the torchbearers reach Paris Street at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Southbound lanes on Paris Street will temporarily close for the relay as the route continues over the Bridge of Nations to the corner of Paris and York Street where the Pan Am flame will be carried to the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre. Southbound traffic lanes on Paris will reopen behind the torchbearers as the procession moves forward.

Motorists are advised to take alternate routes to avoid traffic delays eastbound on Elm Street and southbound on Paris Street between 6:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.

At approximately 8:35 a.m. on June 3, the Pan Am Games flame will depart Churchill Public School at 1722 Fielding Street. Torchbearers will proceed down Auger Avenue, Gemmell Street and Westmount Avenue with minimal traffic disruptions.

Residents are invited to a community celebration starting at 5:30 p.m. today at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre in Bell Park with entertainment provided by the Northern All Stars Steel Pan Band, Darren McGregor and the Black Bull Moose Singers and local songstress JoAnne Landry.

All activities and parking are free of charge. Food and refreshments will be available on site.
